🛰️ Solar arrays for space

Solar arrays for spacecraft, from low and medium Earth orbit to the Moon, Venus and deep space. Today at Blue Origin I work on solar arrays for TeraWave, the Blue Moon lunar lander and Blue Ring. TeraWave →

📡 Power beaming

Beaming power to places the Sun cannot reach: through the Venus atmosphere, into the lunar night, to permanently shadowed craters, and for deep-space propulsion.

🪐 Spacecraft power systems

Power Subsystem Lead for NASA's Cassini spacecraft at JPL, through the Grand Finale dives between Saturn and its rings until the end of mission.

🌕 In-space resources & manufacturing

At Blue Origin: turning lunar regolith into metals, silicon and solar cells, using molten oxide electrolysis, crystal growth and solar heating. See patents.

🔬 Nanophotonics for photovoltaics

Light trapping with resonant dielectric nanospheres to make ultrathin solar cells absorb more light (Caltech, Atwater group).

💡 Plasmonics

Dielectric-loaded surface plasmon waveguides, with gain and integration with silicon photonics (PhD, Université de Bourgogne).
